Pedro Piquet (SMP Racing by AVF) took the fastest lap time at the end of morning session in second Collective Test session at Bahrain International Circuit. The Brazilian topped in 1:43.623, a faster performance than last week-end pole position, thanks also to a cloudy weather that kept the track cool, avoiding high temperatures and tyre wear. Second lap time for the Russian Yan Shlom (Fortec Motorsports), followed by Henrique Chaves (SMP Racing by AVF) and Lirim Zendeli (Lotus).

Jehan Darvala (Fortec Motorsports) is back on the cockpit of this car after some testing days few years ago. The Indian is a protégé of the Force India F1 team, as well a Formula 3 racer in 2017. Regular 2017 driver Diego Menchaca, runner-up in the rookie standings, drove Lotus Champion’s car.

“Things are improving. I feel better than in day 1, I’m getting more confident with track and car. Of course I had the chance to recover a bit after the long flight from Macau, so definitely a positive start this morning”.
